Most Attorneys Ignore Half Your Case

When you’re arrested and charged with a crime, there are two parts of your case. The first part is what everyone talks about: getting a good result in your case. The second part, nobody ever talks about and your attorney may not even be aware of, but it’s just as important: guiding your through this case and relieving you from as much stress as possible.

Every time I talk with someone who is being charged with a crime, they always tell me they want the same thing: a dismissal in their case. This is obviously important to them and we always try to get a good result in every case that we work on. What most of them don’t ask is, “How are you going to guide me through this process?”

When I was arrested for DWI, the only thing I was worried about was the outcome of my case. I wanted that dismissal also. What I didn’t know to think about was whether my attorney would let me know what to expect in the case, would he be there to answer my questions, and would he make sure that I knew everything I needed to keep this case from following me around the rest of my life. I still remember walking into court on the first court date and now knowing if there was going to be a trial or if my case would be reset. My attorney also didn’t let me know that I could clean up my record with an expunction since my case was ultimately dismissed.

Being charged with a crime is confusing and stressful. If you have an attorney who is not letting you know what to expect when you walk in the courtroom or isn’t returning your phone calls, it only adds more stress. Most attorneys haven’t been charged with a crime and don’t understand what you’re going through right now.

I make it a priority to make sure that I let clients know what to expect, so they don’t have to go through what I went through after I was arrested. I also make sure that I’m available to answer any questions they may have, and I call my clients regularly just to check on them and see how they’re doing. I even created a podcast to try and help everyone, not just my clients, understand what they can expect when they’re arrested.

If you have any questions about this or if you’re being charged with a crime in the San Antonio area, feel free to give me a call or click the button below to schedule a consultation with me. I look forward to helping you out.
